Virgin Hyperloop One seeks talented, bright minds to intern and help us build the next generation of transportation. If you're dedicated, passionate, and ready to get your hands dirty, Virgin Hyperloop One is the place for you.

Our interns are given the chance to shine. They are project owners, key collaborators, and innovators who help drive the company forward. Want to research new Hyperloop routes? Create software and power systems that control hyperloop pods? Design or conduct analysis on our hyperstructures? We have a wide array of intern opportunities where you'll get to pursue big projects and explore your passions and potential.

What season(s) do you hire interns for?

Summer - Candidates must start between May/June.

How long are internships?

The standard internship is a minimum of 12 weeks and require​s that ​​​​​​the intern to be available for a minimum of 40 hours per week.

What locations hire interns?

Los Angeles – Headquarters

Who is eligible to apply?

Undergraduates, Masters, and PhD students can apply. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university/college or within six months of their last degree by the start of the internship at Virgin Hyperloop One.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer and not require sponsorship.

What majors does Virgin Hyperloop One hire?

Engineering roles: Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Computer Science, Aerospace, Civil, Material Science, Physics, etc.

Corporate Sciences: Business, Finance, HR, Organizational Dev/Psychology, Legal, etc

Are the internships paid?

Yes, the internships are paid based on level of education and role.

Does Virgin Hyperloop One assist in relocating the interns?

Yes, we offer a stipend to assist in housing and currently allow interns to get reimbursed for some travel expenses. Additional information is provided to candidates who receive an offer.

Where do the interns live?

Intern typically sublet apartments or dorms in the LA area. Many find housing close to USC.

Does Virgin Hyperloop One sponsor international students?

Not at this time but please check back for updates.

What is the intern interview process like?

Applicants with strong resumes may be contacted for a Talent Operations phone screen, technical phone screen and/or a Skype technical presentation.

We do not invite intern candidates on-site to interview.

Do interns typically receive full time offers upon completing their degree?

Dependent on qualifications, performance, headcount, and business needs, Virgin Hyperloop One foresees the need to continue to hire new graduates.

Do interns have a chance to meet other interns that will be joining Virgin Hyperloop One before the start of summer?

Interns who have accepted their offer will be added to a Facebook group to get to know other interns and start planning housing or finding roommates.

What are the preferred qualifications to work at Virgin Hyperloop One?

Engineering: Hands on experience designing, building, testing through collegiate engineering competitions, prior internships, personal projects or tinkering.

Corporate Services: Prior internship and/or leadership experience.

What types of engineering collegiate competitions would you recommend I get involved with?

Formula SAE, Baja SAE, SAE Aero Design, SAE Supermileage, Solar Car, RoboSub, CubeSat, RoboCup, Hackathons, Design-Build-Fly, Robotics, Student Steel Bridge, etc.

Do the interns receive any special perks?

We offer free lunch, intern exclusive events, free refreshments, etc.
